Weekly Update (28/07/2010)

Hello, hope you are having a good week to date.  Heaps going on this week that I would like to share and keep you up to date.

One Month to Live

Our month long teaching series starts this Saturday.  This Saturday’s session is an introduction and a chance to get the material to you to help you get the most out of the challenge for the month, and more importantly help you stay with us for the journey if you miss a week.

The message this Saturday is entitled ‘Living the Dash’, and we have heaps of exciting things to share with you. 

The Trap

Our childrens program KidZone continues with messages and creativity which will help teach our kids about offense.  This Saturday is week 3 and the kids will be learning about the ‘Symptoms’ which will be a great eye opener for them and all of us.  Great teaching, and great fun again this Saturday.

By the way the series is based on a marvellous book and resource from author and teacher John Bevere called “The Bait of Satan”.  Great teaching for adults about the power of and the keys to overcoming offense.

Food Glorious Food

Dinner after the service seemed to wrk particularly well last Saturday.  Thankyou to all who contributed, and it was truly a ‘loaves and fishes’ event with our visitors being able to join us for some fantastic food and fellowship.

Let’s do the same this week, if you bring a plate of food to share before the service, hot dishes can be placed in the oven, and clod dishes in the fridge or on the counter.

Mens Movie Night

On Monday 2nd August, I would like to invite the men to join me to watch ‘Inception’ at reading Cinemas at Cannon Park.  The movie starts at 6.30pm and will be fininshed by 9.  It’s the latest Leonardo DeCaprio action film and is getting some great reviews.  Let me (Dan) know if you can come (0402475945) or just show up 15-20mins early so we can go in together.
