What part can you play?

A church that is built on a servant heart and working together as a turning a blank canvas into something specialteam relies on the generosity of a volunteer army that is mobilised in many different facits of ministry and service throughout the life of the church.

I once read that 'On a cruise ship there might be two crew members for every passenger, but oproduction crew - putting everything into ordern a naval vessel every person has a part to play'  We are a ship with the purpose of fighting for the lives of the lost and persihing and for that we will fulfill our mission by mobilising a united team.

We all have unique and vital gifts and skills that God has given us to showcasing the skill & talent of some of our teams - musicmake a difference.  As we serve together, and use our talents, we are shaped, strengthened & refined by God to make a considerable and lasting impact in our world.  

How can you feel involved?  Join in. You'll serve together, laupractical help & working togethergh together, pray together, grow together.  It's not a job, it's more than a job, it's your heart!

Youth

Getaway4kids - providing suport, activities and inspiration to the primary school aged children in the upper ross community in Thuringowa on Friday nights. Our team is involved in such things as cooking, supervising games, first aid, craft organising and supervising, playing sport, driving buses etc.

Music Team - using your musical gift, voice or instrument to lead people, in praise and worship in our weekly meetings

Setting up & Packing up - setting up sunday meetings @ school venue with a purpose of communicating the message of the week and providing a place wihout distraction that will bless the people who gather together

Sunday School - children's church activities, including craft, games, for primary school aged children and children up to 14 years old.

Pastoral Care - visiting & caring for people within the church and in the community including hospital visitation, home visitation, assimilating new people into the church family, ongoing care and support for the church family.

Multimedia prodution - including media presentations, video, powerpoint etc

Prayer - praying togehter during the week for the church, for the community, and for situationas as they arise.  Prayer is a vital part of successfully fulfilling our mission and sucessfully working together as a team

Small groups, Life Groups, & Bible Studies - places people can meet for teaching, social, or any other reason but under the pretense of caring for people and helping them find significance and purpose in life.

Sound prodution - a vital part of the production of the sunday meetings, our sound production team ensure that all the technical areas are working and that the delivery of the message is clear and effective

Cd production - production of cd's from weekly sermons

Hospitality - setting up & organising refreshments before and after church service

Greeting / Welcoming - providing a warm welcome to the church family and to visitors

Administration & Data entry - for those who have the gift with the keyboard and the computer, this could involve typing, filing, and organising the behind the scenes operation of church life

Childrens Stories - presenting a vibrant relevant object lesson within the sunday service for the kids & parents before the kids go to sunday school

Social events organisation - organising social gatherings for the church and the community

Website - collecting information and updating the website with the latest news, events and happenings

Preaching / Teaching - working alongside the senior pastor in developing the communication of the weekly message to the church and into the small home and life groups.

Counselling - providing support to our church and community under the suppervision of our trained counsellors

Community Welfare - distribution of aide in response to emergency needs & going beyond a had out - providing a hand up through training and mentoring.

Video production - weekly sermons, dramas, interviews etc

Dramas - communicating a topic through live performances, or video taped skits to be used in weekly meetings etc

Dance - performing & organising interpretive dance for weekly services, for kids, ....

Starting a life group, home group or social group - the sky is the limit on your creativity in thinking of great things to do together and possibly just for a short season (games, sport, activities, ...)

Serving the community - mowing lawns, cleaning yards & houses, helping the needy, serving petrol (some good old fashioned service!)
